1 cup water
1 cup milk
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
Heat in microwave to very hot, but not boiling.
Add:
2 cups flour
3 packets rapid rise yeast
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
Mix well. Add:
1 egg
Stir again. Slowly add up to 3 1/2 cups more flour, until dough starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl.
Kneed 3-4 minutes
Let sit 20 minutes
Roll out dough and spread with 1/2 cup butter, sugar, and cinnamon (don't skimp on the cinnamon).
Optional additions: raisins and nuts
Roll up, then slice into 1 1/2" slices. Place on baking pan, side by side. Let rise about 30 minutes.
Bake at 350 deg. F till lightly golden grown and bounce bck in the middle.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Frosting:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 c butter
pinch salt
1 tsp vanilla
enough milk to form a thin frosting.
Drizzle over cinnamon rolls.
